Maple Tree Day School is South St. Paul’s first center based childcare and only full day preschool program. We seek to purposely build an environment that reflects and honors each child’s sense of self. We respect that each child has a different timetable for learning. This coupled with nurturing relationships and inspiring curriculum allows children to feel valued and empowered. We believe children are eager, capable players who learn with zest in stimulating and affirming environments.
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away (Mendota Heights to be exact), Amy Jenkins and Julia Hagen’s path’s first crossed. We were livin’ the life, teaching preschool at the preschool of our dreams. We spent our days frolicking with children and feeding farm animals. Many years passed, and Julia and Amy both found themselves wanting more. Within a few years of each other, both Amy and Julia left to pursue a calling to each open their own curriculum based in home daycares in South St. Paul. For many years, we adored our jobs. We loved working from home, running our own programs and not having to look remotely presentable day after day after day. Until one day, our fairy godmother brought us to 1001 Marie Avenue in South St. Paul to show us how the children of South St. Paul didn’t have a daycare center or full day preschool program of their own. It was a perfect fit and we immediately felt the need to share our love, knowledge, wit and our full-day preschool curriculum with the children of South St. Paul (and nearby and surrounding areas).
It was then, and only then that we began to live happily ever after.
